It is very easy to buy reasonably priced, efficient flea collars for your pets. These will do their job of keeping the fleas away and making the life of your pet, and yourself, much more comfortable. But what chemicals are used for these collars? How do you know if they are safe for your pet? Also, how do you know that they are safe for other members of the family that are in close contact with their pets? The only way to be sure is to use natural flea collars.
A more economical way of treating the problem is to make your own natural flea collar. There are many options here and it is easy to find one that is suitable for yourself and your pet. If you have a dog and there are no fleas in the coat at present, you can make a simple repellent by quartering a lemon and steeping it in boiling water overnight. The next day, the lemon juice can be put into a simple spray bottle and sprayed onto a collar or bandana or even directly onto your dogs coat. Obviously keep the spray away from his eyes and delicate behind bits. This is not a good spray for cats as they do not mix well with citrus fruit. As this is such a cheap and easy way to make a flea collar, it can be used pretty much all of the time.
